Water Forum 2009 tagged ‘best ever’

“This is the best water forum ever conducted in the region.”
This was the commendation given by Ms. Amancia B. Magusib, ARD for Technical Operation of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 02 during the closing ceremony of the Water Forum held on July 29, 2009 at the Mo. Madeleine Hall of St. Paul University Philippines.
According to her, the participants - who participated actively and listened attentively - raised the best questions while the speakers provided the best answers.
With an introduction by Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, the affair was highlighted by the talks given by the distinguished resource speakers. Atty. Nelson P. Honrado, Special Environment Investigator of the EMB Central Office, discussed the “Philippine Clean Water Act: The Government‘s Effort to Protect the Philippine Waters.” Mr. Romeo T. Fragata, Senior Environment Management Specialist (EMB-Region 02), tackled the “Water Quality Guidelines and General Effluents Standards.” And, Engr. Jose Zipagan, Environmental and Occupational Health Program Coordinator (DOH Region 02) elucidated the “Salient Features of the PNS for Drinking Water and the Regulations of Drinking Water Distributors.”
The forum was attended by the students of the different schools and the representatives of the government offices in the region.
