Paulinians clinch 2 spots in CV’s TOSP

A year after St Paul University Philippines swept the ‘Most Outstanding Student Services Award,’ conferred by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) from the regional to the national level in 2009, the University is in the limelight again with two of its student-leaders named in the Search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) for Region 02.

Out of the three regional qualifiers, two Paulinians were included in the Magic 10 who will represent the region in the national level.

March Magat, a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and Legal Management (BS-PALM) alumnus and Ma. Belen Ong, a Bachelor of Science in Social Work alumna, will contend in the search along with the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines from the different regions of the country.

With their jubilant parents, Magat and Ong received their TOSP medals and certificates of recognition during the Awarding Ceremonies held at the CCT Gymnasium on April 14, 2010.

Included in the list of the top 20 regional qualifiers was Claro A. Mallillin, a Bachelor in Secondary Education-English alumnus, who received a TOSP Medal and a Certificate of Recognition.

Receiving the certificates of appreciation for SPUP were the Vice President for Academics, Sister Nicole de Marie Dabalus, SPC, and the Director for Student Affairs, Mr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales.

The Regional Executive Committee (REXECOM), in charge of the Search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) Region 02, was headed by none other than Most Rev. Diosdado A. Talamayan, Ph.D., D.D., Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao.
