Paulinians attend 6th SPC-CEM Camp-In, immerse themselves in community

TWO PAULINIAN STUDENT LEADERS and a Paulinian social worker participated in the 6th Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres - Education Ministry (SPC-CEM) Community Extension Services (CES) Summer Camp-In held at St. Paul College Pasig- Davao Campus, Davao City, on March 23-27, 2010.
Participants from St. Paul University Philippines were Paulinian Volunteers for Community Development (PVCD) Adviser Noemi T. Cabaddu and Supreme Body of Students (SBS) Senators Federico M. Genobili, Jr. and Charmagne Cumigad.
Immersed in Barangay New Carmen (Old Damp-site), Ma-a Davao City, the participants engaged in various activities that included: catechism, tutorial of children, home visitation, feeding activity and interaction with families.
The five-day camp-in and immersion, dubbed as “Building Peaceful Communities,” was attended by Paulinians from St. Paul University Quezon City, St. Paul University Dumaguete, St. Paul College Pasig (SPCP), SPCP – Davao Campus, St. Paul College Makati, St. Paul College Paranaque, St. Paul University Manila and St. Paul University Surigao.
The endeavor was aimed at: understanding St. Paul’s way of peace making; developing skills on how to promote peace in the community as learned from St. Paul; establishing harmonious relationship among community members; and bringing peace to the respective Paulinian communities and the outside world.
When asked about the Camp-In, Genobili said, “I was able to make new friends from different St. Paul schools nationwide. It was fun and exciting to meet individuals with different personalities.”
