St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) and Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU) of Taiwan forged a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on student and faculty exchange program at the Board Room of SPUP last Jan. 18, 2010.
SPUP President Sister Remy Angela Junio, SPC, and CJCU President Chin-Seng Chen, Ph.D., affixed their signatures after a discussion among SPUP’s President’s Council and the administrators from CJCU held at the SPUP Board Room.
Chen was accompanied by Dr. Jy-Ping Sah, CJCU’s Director for International Affairs, and Ms. Paula Trever, English Assistant, Office of the President.
The recent linkage is an offshoot of the Management Conference 2009 attended by two SPUP administrators: Dr. Concepcion Doyugan, Intercultural Institute of Languages (IIL) Coordinator, and Mr. Allan Peejay Lappay, Public Affairs Coordinator, at Chang Jung Christian University, on October 28-30, 2009.
Both CJCU and SPUP are members of the Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA), which encourages international cooperation.
During the CJCU officials’ stay, SPUP entertained them with a city and campus tour and showed them Festive Praise, the choral-dance concert organized by the SPUP Culture and Performing Arts Center (CPAC).
“We brought back so many memories: the sparkling green campus, the shining faces of the students as they sang in the Festive Praise program, the beautiful flower arrangements, the fresh herbs in the exquisitely prepared dishes, the tasty cookies, the lovely gardens on every side,” penned Ms. Paula Trever in her letter of thanks sent through electronic mail to Dr. Doyugan.
“Everything was full of such care and consideration. I do not think I have ever received such warm hospitality in my life,” Ms. Trever capped in her thank you letter.
