Alumni top 10 in Nursing Board; SPUP is top 4 nationwide

TWO BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING (BSN) fresh graduates clinched top six and top ten in the November 2009 Nursing Licensure Examinations (NLE).
Donald Bancud Paloma (graduated cum laude in October 2009) and Samuel John Sayoc Saludez performed well with their rating: 86.20% and 85.40%, respectively.
One hundred eighty (180) out of 181 fresh graduates passed the licensure exam. The batch passing rate is 99.45%, whereas the school scored 96.77% (with the repeaters).
Under Category A (schools with 100 and above examinees), SPUP is hailed top 4 performing school nationwide.
According to a news report from GMA News.TV, the Professional
Regulation Commission (PRC) has disclosed that “the November 2009 NLE is so far the lowest.” The national passing rate is just 39.73% (37,527 examinees passed out of 94,462 nursing graduates who took the November 2009 examinations).
Meanwhile, SPU-Iloilo – SPUP’s sister school in the St. Paul University System – outranked Manila-based nursing schools. With its 100% passing rate, it was declared the top performing school nationwide.
