Relief goods from OFWs sent to SPUP; distributed to Cagayano typhoon victims

ADDRESSED TO THE UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT, SISTER REMY Angela Junio, SPC – 379 balikbayan boxes of assorted relief goods were delivered to SPUP on separate trips from Manila.

Two LBC delivery trucks brought the relief goods. The first delivery was on November 14, 2009, with 249 boxes; the second was on Nov. 21, 2009, with 130 boxes.

Sent by the Overseas Filipino Workers from USA, UAE, Singapore and Hongkong, the balikbayan boxes were filled with clothes, blankets, towels, bed sheets, shoes, medicine and kitchenware, for distribution to the victims of Typhoon Pepeng.

The relief goods were repacked by the Paulinian staff, together with the student volunteers.

So far, SPUP has already distributed the relief goods to 2,093 Cagayano families; moreover, there are still relief goods to be repacked and distributed soon.

All in all, SPUP received 379 boxes delivered by the LBC, which offered its freight services for free.
