SPUP sponsors UNESCO-ASPnet’s Orientation-Forum for Educators

unesco_01The University is currently preparing its application to the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization-Associated Schools Project Network (UNESCO-ASPnet). Along with this, Dr. Rene M. Colocar, National Coordinator of the UNESCO-ASPnet, conducted a half-day Orientation-Forum for Educators last September 15, 2009 at the SPUP Guidance Testing Center.

Dr. Colocar dwelt on “Learning for Change: Transcending ESD Strategy for UNESCO-ASPnet Schools.” He underscored that UNESCO is not unesco_02aiming for the increase in the number of participating schools; rather, it is after quality outputs.

After the orientation, an open forum was facilitated by Dr. Jesus Pizarro, Director of the Research, Planning and Development where the participants clarified some matters on school membership.

The orientation-forum was attended by the educators and administrators of the different higher learning institutions of Region 02.

Meanwhile, the University President Sister Remy Angela Junio, SPC, assured in her welcome address that SPUP will fully support the programs of UNESCO-ASPnet.
