LAST AUGUST 1, 2009, the School of Information Technology & Engineering (SITE) began to reach out to public high school students.
Through the leadership of its Dean, Sr. Jocelyn Casio, SPC, SITE has recently launched its outreach program on Computer Literacy and Training.
Designed for public high school students, the two-month training is aimed at imparting to the students the basic skills on computer operations: using Microsoft Word, preparing PowerPoint presentations, and internet browsing.
On August 1, 2009, the first batch (31 students) from Cagayan National High School attended the first session. They were followed by the first batch (66 students) from Camasi High School on August 8, 2009.
In the training, the students came up with outputs which shall be presented to their school and to the SPUP Administrators.
15 fourth year I.T. students served as lecturers and facilitators in this pioneering initiative.
