US-based Medical Doctor talks on Dengue

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 02, in collaboration with St. Paul University Philippines and Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium (CVHRDC), sponsored the “Special Seminar on Community-Based Dengue Surveillance and Control” on October 07, 2009 at the Mother Madeleine Hall, St. Paul University Philippines, Tuguegarao City.

Aimed at disseminating the important details about dengue, the seminar was attended by the nursing students and faculty from Cagayan Colleges Tuguegarao, F.L. Vargas College, University of St. Louis Tuguegarao and St. Paul University Philippines.

The resource speaker Dr. Luciano T. Talens, Medical Doctor and Virologist from Koronis Pharmaceuticals in Redmond Washington, USA, shared his expertise.

Dr. Valdez elucidated the causes and symptoms of dengue together with the steps on how to prevent its occurrence. He underscored that everyone in the community must help in his/her community’s fight against dengue.
