ALL THE COLLEGE GUIDANCE COUNSELORS OF ST. PAUL University Philippines are now duly certified to practice their profession.

Guidance Counselors Ms. Peregrina Battung and Mr. Voltair Soriano, together with the CPD Director Dr. Ma. Teresa Maguigad, passed the requirements of the Grandfather Clause – an exemption from taking the board examination given to counselors who have been in the profession for at least five years, have completed masteral units in guidance and counseling, and have acquired significant experiences along the field.

On the other hand, Mrs. Teresita Lasam and Mrs. Virginia Pinson passed the Guidance Licensure Examination conducted on August 27 – 28, 2009.

The five newly-registered guidance counselors took their oath on September 27, 2009 at the Manila Hotel.

Last year, Mrs. Claudeth Gamiao, Mrs. Sylvia Quigao and Mrs. Juana Rivera received their license.

Having a license to practice guidance and counseling in the Philippines is mandated by the Guidance and Counseling Act of 2004. The license may be acquired from the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) in two ways: (1) passing the Guidance Licensure Examination, and (2) meeting the requirements set in the Grandfather Clause stipulated in the Guidance and Counseling Act of 2004 by submitting one’s credentials to the PRC.
