Morales attends Int’l Confab in Australia

THE STUDENT AFFAIRS DIRECTOR, Mr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales, attended the 17th ASEACCU (Association of South and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities) Conference held at the Menzies Hotel, Sydney, Australia on August 27– 30, 2009.
Sponsored by the University of Notre Dame, the conference was dubbed as Building A Culture of Life (Catholic Higher Education and the Challenges of Bioethics).
After the conference, Mr. Morales met with the administrators of the following institutions: Monash University of Victoria, Australia; Australian Catholic University of North Sydney, Australia; University of Ballarat of Victoria, Australia; and, St. Louis College of Bangkok, Thailand.
In the meetings, Mr. Morales elicited from the administrators the strengths of their institutions together with their areas of interest with SPUP. Some of the possible tie-ups with these institutions include: research consortium; HRTM, MSN, DSN internships; twinning program for DIT, MA and PhD programs; revival of native languages; and, faculty visits and faculty exchange programs.
Meanwhile, during his trip to Australia Mr. Morales was able to discuss agricultural progress and agricultural education with Dr. Virginia Teodosio of the University of the Philippines. On his way home, he was able to confer with Dr. Najeeb Al Zamil of St. Luke’s Hospital (on health care) and Ms. Zsa Zsa Padilla of the ABS CBN Talent Center (on UNICEF Programs).
