ACUCA Accepts membership Application of SPUP

The Association of Christian University and Colleges in Asia (ACUCA) recently accepted St. Paul University Philippines as one of its members during its Biennial Conference and 17th General Assembly on October 16-18, 2008 at the Ateneo De Manila University. ACUCA is composed of universities which have proven their commitment to uphold quality education and any application for membership undergoes rigid screening and scrutiny.
Dr. Josephine Campañano, Planning and Development Director, represented SPUP in the ACUCA conference. She accepted the certificate of membership on behalf of Sister Remy Angela Junio,spc, the University President.
The ACUCA conference theme for this year is "Christian Universities: Identity and Challenges in Today's World".
SPUP holds Breakfast Conference for CHED Officials

St. Paul University held a Breakfast Conference for the officials of the Commission on Higher Education headed by the Regional Director, Dr. Virginia Resurreccion, on October 20, 2008. The conference aimed to foster an open dialogue between the members of SPUP administration and the different unit heads of CHED Region 02.
In her opening remarks, Sister Remy Angela Junio,spc, the University President, emphasized that she has been wanting to invite Dr. Resurrecccion to come to the University and give updates on the thrusts of the newly appointed CHED Chairman, Dr. Emmanuel Angeles.
Dr. Resurreccion, in her message, appreciated the efforts of SPUP to hold a conference with the CHED officials and for bringing out matters necessary in the management of its academic programs. She further said that all schools should follow the same so that questions regarding new CHED circulars and guidlines can be clarified.
During the open forum, the SPUP administrators were given ample time to raise their questions pertinent to existing CHED guidelines. Thereafter, a certificate of appreciation was awarded to Dr. Resurrecccion and her staff by Sister Remy Angela Junio,spc.
