SPUP Generates Three TOSP Awardees-Regional Level

St. Paul University Philippines takes pride in being the only school in Region 02 with three awardees in the recently held Search for the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines, Regional level. The awardees are Mark Anthony G. Articulo (BSPALM 4), Mc Allen Reonel Sebastian S. Cacacho (BSCSIT4)and Kristine Gail B. Mila (BSA 5)

The awarding ceremony was held at the University of La Salette in Santiago on March 10, 2008. The event was attended by school administrators, teachers, and student achievers all over Region 02. For SPUP, the awardees were accompanied by the President, Sister Remy Angela Junio, SPC, the Vice President for Academics, Sister Teresita Bayona, SPC, the Director for Student Affairs, Mr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales, their School Deans and SBS Advisers.

The TOSP Regional Level annual search is spearheaded by the RFM group of Companies and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region 02. It is aimed at selecting ten students who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement every school year. Indeed, the selection process is a feat to reckon with.

Kudos to all the awardees from the entire Paulinian community!

New Paulinian RNs Proved SHS Culture of Excellence

The long waiting is finally over!... March 24, 2008 marks the new beginning of the lives of the newly Registered Nurses who successfully passed the December 1 and 2, 2008 Nurse Licensure Examination with the Oath taking ceremony which was led by the Professional Regulations Commission- Board of Nursing and the Philippine Nurses Association at the Greyhounds Gymnasium, Cagayan Colleges Tuguegarao, Tuguegarao City. With a total of 67,728, only 28, 294 passed the examination including first timers, repeaters and voluntary retakers. The passers may not be so few, but they are indeed very blessed.

The program started with the St. Paul University Philippines- Nightingales Choir, singing the National Anthem and invocation afterwhich, Mr. Danilo Gumabay, Professional Regulations Officer I delivered his welcome remarks.

The occasion was graced by Dr. Yolanda C. Arugay, member, Board of Nursing, who led the oath-taking of the new Professional Nurses. She also delivered an inspirational message right after the oath-taking ceremony.

Later, Dr. Arnel Melad of the Professional Regulations Commission announced the National and Regional Topnotchers namely:

Paulinians rejoiced as they dominated the top 10 performers in the Region. Kudos fellow Paulinian Registered Nurses! Truly, you made your Alma Mater PROUD!

Mr. Julius Riazonda, national 7th Placer and Regional Topnotcher gave a short message, followed by the Nurses Pledge led by Ms. Agnes Antonio, President, Philippine Nurses Association, North Chapter and the Oath of membership to Philippine Nurses Association led by Dr. Leticia Puguon, Governor, PNA Region 2.

Officer-in-Charge, regional Director of Professional Regulations Commission Dr. Rodrigo Balaqui Jr. ended the event with his unforgettable closing remarks.
