Dr. Amelia Maglacas is SPUP's Commencement Speaker

St. Paul University Philippines shall hold its 4th Commencement Exercises for the School of Health Sciences on October 18, 2008. SPUP is very privileged to have Dr. Amelia Maglacas as its resource speaker.
Dr. Maglacas is the first Filipino Chief Scientist for Nursing of the Division of Health Manpower of the World Health Organization (WHO). She conceptualized, designed, and facilitated the establishment of a "Global Network of WHO Collaborating Centers for Nursing/Midwifery Development". She is an outstanding Philippine and International nursing development leader. To the world, she is known as an advocate of primary health care, a consultant and speaker in global conferences and a catalyst for the recognition of the nursing profession's contribution to health systems.
Dr. Maglacas is truly an epitome of an outstanding nurse educator and practitioner. With her scholarly contributions and achievements in the field of nursing, SPUP shall confer upon her Doctor of Science Honoris Causa.
The upcoming graduates are truly fortunate for Dr. Maglacas' positive response to SPUP's invitation in spite of her very hectic schedule. Certainly, an inspiration to continue pursuing excellence in the person of Dr. Maglacas, shall remarkably highlight the upcoming commencement exercises of SPUP.
CHED Revisits School Of Nursing For Center Of Excellence

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) revisits the School of Nursing today, September 29, 2008 until October 1, 2008 to determine its qualification to be a Center of Excellence in Nursing Education.
The School of Nursing was one of only eight Centers of Excellence in Nursing Education in the country for a period of five years in 1996. Joining the ranks of prestigious nursing schools, the School of Nursing has been actively involved in the promotion of quality nursing education.
The School of Nursing has consistently produced board topnotchers and passers through the years. The nurse-educators have truly manifested commitment and dedication in the pursuit of excellence as manifested by the array of achievements garnered by their students.
The Technical team is composed of Dr. Carmencita M. Abaquin, Dr. Ramona Heidie C. Palad, Ms. Maria Wilma R. Gabrillo, and Dr. Mary Pablo.
