SCHOOL OF ARTS, SCIENCES AND TEACHER EDUCATION (SED)
The School of Arts, Sciences and Teacher Education aims to develop professional teachers who are imbued with Christian attitude, Gospel values, leadership qualities, sensitivity to the needs of others, who continually grow in their personal and professional lives, and who can demonstrate and practice the professional and ethical requirements of the teaching profession. It endeavors to achieve these through the following objectives:
- to train students to be proficient in the respective fields of specialization;
- to integrate their religious, academic, and cultural training in the practice of their profession;
- to promote the development of Filipino cultural traits such as self-discipline, respect for god, persons, country and mother nature, honesty and integrity;
- to participate and lead in innovative and productive endeavors;
- to promote higher level level literacy, communication, numeracy, critical thinking, learning skills needed for higher learning;
- to equip students with a wide range of teacher processes/skills (including curriculum development, lesson planning, materials development, educational assessment, and teaching approaches); and
- to imbibe in the students a sense of mission and commitment to promoting the welfare of one's community.
